[good soul Gabriele Tedoros spins beautiful music over on keXp – a steve lacy appreciation set!]

I’m wrestling with how a post from kind soul Scott might become more useful than just a capture of the ramblings and odd notations of a man who is certainly holding tight to that which allows a sense of self and normalcy. I mean – here’s a lovely missive from good soul Jason. He captures something wonderful.

“It was the equivalent of cramming a hubcap full of Hamburger Helper that you dropped on the way there onto a hors’ d’oeuvre table between foie gras and Waygu beef crostinis.”

Beyond just his wonderful storytelling is the commentary from the users over at The Autopian – it seems it’s a fab group of like minded souls/bots, most of whom seem genuinely happy to be at the site, reading the wisdom of a … hmmm, motojournalist? naw. Life Scribe! that’s about right.

So what am I trying here? Maybe the schtick will be ‘hey – did you hear the good news?

Today, January 3rd, 2014, at 10 AM Pacific Time, the Golden Gate Bridge did not collapse. 110,000 vehicles were safely conveyed over 8000 feet from one side of the bridge to the other, including cars, trucks, semi-trucks, not even to mention the countless bicyclists and pedestrians. The bridge did not collapse despite being exposed to harsh weather conditions and constant vibrations for more than seventy-six years. The death count at this point is unknown, but is thought to be zero.

Did you hear the good news? Am I saying that George Ryan might have hit the nail on the head with the current crop of ‘news’ sites? Yes. Yes I am.
