‘send me an angel in the morning’ is haunting, extra when it’s by Lauren hill of Fugees… in 1996. This whole revisit to the 90s has been playing with my head a bit. Perhaps it’s because I recall nothing utterly terrifying from those years. I mean, besides existential dread, but then again – my 20s, amiright?
“coming back from Jones Beach” – a lyric from “One Love” by Nas – hey – I know that place!! – vs. – reading about how shitty the racism from Trump has become and the fears I’m having about the future – good time, good times
//12:59p – “Music is air for those who are part of our community”… good soul John//
//4:12p – |”ain’t no justice, just us” from D’Angelo’s “Devil’s Pie”, spun by Larry Mizell on the Afternoon Show on keXp//
//10:38p – | Primal Scream – Come Together (Farley Mix 7″) – from I think Larry’s show?//
So – how to make a change in discipline? how to keep doing thee things that I find give me joy?
I’m tired’sh. I’m low-energy. Bored? Looked out the front door but didn’t see any of this:
And so, with YouTube feeding me the air I need (Primal then Dire…), a photo album page with looping gifs of my kiddo bombing along having the time of his life, the evening feeling light at the moment, perhaps I will leave it at this, eh? Oh, should find a vid maybe?
//8:25a+01Oct20 = Thursday || “Rumble In the Jungle” by Fugees feat. A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes & Forte, as shared by Gabriel on Early on keXp – my intro-edu-duct-ca-tion continues…//
