We had a young girl ring our doorbell last night – I’m puzzled – she needed to borrow a phone, and I lent her our house phone, but I wasn’t as friendly as I think I’d like to be, not inviting her in while she waited. Then again, she couldn’t name the street her house was on, and when I called the number back to make sure she had been picked up, a fellow who sounded very asleep answered. I’m sure I’ll ponder this for quite some time – the proper things to do when you’re not sure what to do.
